For første gange nogen sinde bugner mit hjem med garn, hæklenåle, strikkepinde og masser af inspirerende hækle- og strikkebøger…

Jeg er blevet vildt glad for at hækle, strikke og hakke, og er begyndt at tænke store tanker om, hvad jeg kan bruge alle de nye teknikker, som jeg tillærer mig for tiden.

Først var det strikkede regnbuer til havens træer, så var det hækling maske for maske, så tunesisk hækling – og nu tænker jeg i vild frihåndshækling og strik i vild limbo…

Inspiration fra gamle bøger

Bøgerne fra dagens moodboard hedder:

• “Fri hækling” af Lis Paludan
• “Freeform Strik & Hækling” af Prudence Mapstone

Bøgerne er et overflødighedshorn af inspiration til finurlige teknikker og modeller, og når først jeg efterhånden har lært alle slags hæklegreb, er det vel bare at gi’ det et forsøg?

Måske det “bare” bliver ved tanken, måske det rent faktisk bliver til noget… Vi får se…

I hvert fald bor der en hippie inden i mig, som ville elske et giga sjal i et totalt mix af alle mulige teknikker og farver.

Skørt, ja måske, men jeg er vild med tanken!

Dreaming of crazy freeform crochet projects

For the first time ever my home is overloaded with yarn, crochet hooks, knitting needles and lots of inspiring crochet and knitting books…

I have become so thrilled about crochet and knitting, and is starting to think big thoughts about what I can use all the new techniques that I am learning at the moment.

First it was knitted rainbows to the trees, then it was crochet stitch by stitch, and lately it is Tunisian crochet – and now I’m thinking of crazy freeform crochet and knitting all mixed up…

Inspiration from old books

The books from today’s mood board are:

• “Free crochet ” by Lis Paludan
• “Freeform Serendipitous Design Techniques for Knitting and Crochet ” by Prudence Mapstone

The books are a cornucopia of inspiration for artful techniques and models, and once I eventually learned all sorts of crocheting stitches, why not give it a try…?

Perhaps it will “just” be with the thought, perhaps it actually turns into something… We’ll see…

At least there lives a hippie inside me that would love a huge shawl in a total mix of all sorts of techniques and colors.

Crazy, perhaps, but I love the idea!
