MOODBOARD #69:
Turkise tanker ¦ Turquoise thoughts

365 moodboards i 2014. Moodboard #69: Turkise tanker. Smashup. Fotograf: Susanne Randers

Turquoise thoughts

I have collected turquoise stuff over a long time – since I am in the process of sending a turquoise letter to sweet Christine, aka Miss Turquoise

Christine was so wonderful to send me the most beautiful pen pal letter with a beautiful “creative lady” collage inside – and I’m still gathering turquoise goodies to return the delicious letter she sent to me :)

Quick, you can not call me – the letter should have been sent in February, but on the other hand I do it thoroughly;)

So here is an official excuse for the delay, sweet Christine, the letter is very soon heading your way ♥

Lots of love and happiness, Susanne

MOODBOARD #65:
Fra maleri til pimpet opslagstavle ¦ From painting to pimped pin board

From painting to pimped pin board

I have been a volunteer today in Dan Church Social thrift store in Køge. We have made a creative studio in the middle of the shop where creative volunteers can check in and create products out of materials found in the recycling shop.

A mood board of a mood board

I chose today to make the most beautiful and super romantic pin board – which is a mood board itself.

DIY: That’s how I did

I found an old painting, old maps and illustrations of flowers, grains and deers, crocheted doileys, fabric and embroidery and glued it all on the painting.

Afterwards I installed two neon pink strings horizontally on the painting, so you can use it as a pin board or message board. Either for small messages to yourself, or for the further development of the mood board…

Ideally it would look fantastic with smaller wooden clips, but today there was only the big ones available in the charity shop – and my mantra is:

“Take what you have and make the best of it…”

The pin board has been put for sale today in the charity shop for 300 DKK. I hope of course, that it is already sold tomorrow :)

Lots of love and happiness, Susanne

MOODBOARD #64:
Gæk, gæk, gæk ¦ A sweet Danish Easter tradition

365 moodboards i 2014. Moodboard #64: Gæk, gæk, gæk gækkebrev. Smashup. Fotograf: Susanne Randers

A sweet Danish Easter tradition

I love seasonal traditions …

Barely have we finished the Danish carnival feast “Fastelavn” before I start looking forward to Easter. There is still 6 weeks until Easter, but today I found this nice bright yellow silk paper and my grandma’s old scissor, and then I had to just enjoy myself with a little papercut…

We have this very special tradition in Denmark where we send letters to each other before Easter, cut out in various shapes – and without telling who the letter is from. In stead we use dots for each letter in our name. Then the receiver have to guess from whom the letter is…

The unique Danish tradition had its heyday in the second half of the 1800’s – where adults sent letters to each other, but now the letters are mostly sent from children to especially grandparents –  still I like the tradition very much – and I really love the thought about that the tradition is so old…

I ‘m not sure that this yellow papercut stick around until Easter… For after I have seen how, among others, Pia Doodlediem is working with her artjournals, I might use the papercut in a collage, a smash or my artjournal…

What about you, have you ever sent or recieved a Danish Easter letter?

Lots of love and happiness, Susanne
