MOODBOARD #65:
Fra maleri til pimpet opslagstavle ¦ From painting to pimped pin board

From painting to pimped pin board

I have been a volunteer today in Dan Church Social thrift store in Køge. We have made a creative studio in the middle of the shop where creative volunteers can check in and create products out of materials found in the recycling shop.

A mood board of a mood board

I chose today to make the most beautiful and super romantic pin board – which is a mood board itself.

DIY: That’s how I did

I found an old painting, old maps and illustrations of flowers, grains and deers, crocheted doileys, fabric and embroidery and glued it all on the painting.

Afterwards I installed two neon pink strings horizontally on the painting, so you can use it as a pin board or message board. Either for small messages to yourself, or for the further development of the mood board…

Ideally it would look fantastic with smaller wooden clips, but today there was only the big ones available in the charity shop – and my mantra is:

“Take what you have and make the best of it…”

The pin board has been put for sale today in the charity shop for 300 DKK. I hope of course, that it is already sold tomorrow :)

Lots of love and happiness, Susanne

MOODBOARD #63:
Ta-dah: Flyvefærdige uglecollager ¦ Ready made owl collages

Ready made owl collages

Welcome to the world

Meet Johanne and Svend, two sweet twins who came into the real world 21 February 2014.

The owl collages are a gift to the twins’ mother from my childhood friend Susanne.

And it’s not any Susanne, ’cause she is the “mother” of the first two owls I created for her children Rose and Lucca back in 2011.

Since then, I have made many more owl collages – some with and some without a name.

It is pure meditation for me to make the owl collages

I’m having a great time making the collages. It is pure meditation to select the right paper and glue small paper tongues on a large A3 sheet – and talk to the owls when they need to have eyes, ears, beak and wings, to find out which personality they will have…

These two owl collages are relatively similar, as they are ment to be twins – and I found this delicious old hand-painted retro wallpaper in turquoise and purple, which ties the owls together – it’s also the wallpaper, which I have chosen for the owls ears. Cut as flowers for the girl and stars for the boy.

Actually, an owl has not visible ears, but a horn owl has horns, and they are the ones that you most often depicts, when making an owl…

Just a little mood board picture to finalize the owl production, which I started a few weeks ago. Today the owl collages was united with their new mother.

Lots of love and happiness, Susanne

MOODBOARD #57:
Glimt af mit kreative skatkammer ¦ Glimpses of my creative treasuries

365 moodboards i 2014. Moodboard #57: Glimt af mit kreative skatkammer. Smashup. Fotograf: Susanne Randers

[Min kreation under aftenens kreaklub.

Harris ta’r til New York”.

Glimpses of my creative treasuries

Pictures often say more than words…: I’m not going to go down on creative supplies preliminary…!

What lies here on the table at today’s moodboard (on top of this blog post) is “just” a small selection of what I have been working with during the last week, with owl workshop, stamp workshop, doodling with my Promarkers in the weekend, picking up embroidery treasure on Amager and visiting my favorite cafe Ingolfs coffee shop on Sunday, cafe visit with free gocards in Copenhagen yesterday – and 2-3 handbags being emptied to give me an overview…

The challenge is that I just do not have anywere to store all my treasuries right now – so I guess I just have to put it all down in the bags again. We need a new bookshelf at home, where all my creative supplies can be stored, and I am really looking forward to that!

Creative Gathering tonight with collages, artjournaling and smash

I have had company by two beautiful women here tonight in my creative gathering: Rikke Østerø and Camilla Back Sorensen.

We’ve talked, looked in magazines, torned pages out, worked with collages, artjournaling, doodles and smash – well, I do not know if my creation is a smash or a collage, time will tell…

I stumbled upon some old books from the 60s and 70s in the local thrift store, and therein are a lot of beautiful illustrations – here from “Mrs. Harris is going to New York”.

I think that if I stop here, then I have made a smash of the evening, if I’m working further on, it may become a collage to put behind glass and frame…? We’ll see…

Lots of love and happiness, Susanne
