- ‘Athenaeum Boekhandel‘, Spui 14-16: Internationale magasiner
- Stormagasinet ‘de Bijenkorf‘, Dam 1: Pip Studio og det hollandske magasin Flow Magazine
- ‘De 9 straatjes‘ (De 9 gader): Smykker, postkort, illustrationer, retro, genbrug, kaffe
- ‘Vlieger‘, Amstel 34: Papir, papir, papir!!!
- ‘Kitsch Kitshen‘, Rozengracht 8-12: Indisk kitsch
Genialt koncept!!! (Og softice til 50 cent)
- ‘Raw Materials‘, Rozengracht 229-231: Orange trashede husnumre
- ‘Wow To Go – Feel Good Fashion‘, Reestraat 18: Skønne blomstrede retrokrus (og de mest fantastiske flower power Yvonne-kjoler)
- ‘Lucie’s‘, St Luciensteeg 22, samt ‘Beadies‘, Huidenstraat 6: Smykker og perler
- ‘Blomstermarkedet‘, Singel 610-616: Blomsterløg
[Vlieger papirforretning – som at være i papirhimlen]
[Posthumus stempelbutik – need I say more?]
[Flow Magazine – mit absolutte yndlingsmagasin!]
Dansk pop-up shop hos Lomography i Amsterdam
TAK Amsterdam for 48 fantastiske timer!!!
Blog post in English – photos from my Instagram:
Sweet memories from Amsterdam
The Dutch are really amazing with paper, stamps, posters and illustrations!
I have been overwhelmed with eyecandy for 48 hours – and spent around 1,000 DKR to shop paper, magazines, jewelry, retro stuff and maskingtape from the following stores:
Shopping guide for paper nerds and creative supply:
- ‘Athenaeum Boekhandel‘, Spui 14-16: International magazines
- ‘de Bijenkorf‘, Dam 1: Pip Studio and the Dutch magazine Flow Magazine
- ‘De 9 straatjes‘ (De 9 gader): Jewellery, postcards, illustrations, retro, recycling and coffee
- ‘Vlieger‘, Amstel 34: Paper, paper, paper!!!
- ‘Posthumus‘, Sint Luciënsteeg 23-25: Stamps
- ‘Kitsch Kitshen‘, Rozengracht 8-12: Indian kitsch
- ‘Hema‘, Nieuwendijk 174-176: Paper bags, wrapping paper, stamps and maskingtape for very low prices. Brilliant koncept!!! (And soft ice to 50 cent)
- ‘Raw Materials‘, Rozengracht 229-231: Orange trashed house numbers
- ‘Wow To Go – Feel Good Fashion‘, Reestraat 18: Retro mugs (and the most amazing flower power dresses)
- ‘Lucie’s‘, St Luciensteeg 22, and ‘Beadies‘, Huidenstraat 6: Jewellery and beads
- ‘Flower market‘, Singel 610-616: Flowers and bulbs
Danish pop-up shop at Lomography in Amsterdam
Although we didn’t buy a new camera, we got the longest chat and sweetest service in Lomography, Herengracht 298, selling Old school New school cameras.
They also have a temporary pop-up shop with Danish crafts and design – and the coolest notebooks, travel guides, chap books and scrap books for a paper photo geek like me…
I had never heard of the term chap book before – they are the ones that are on the mood board – in Dutch orange, of course!
Prices as in Denmark
The price level is basically the same as in Denmark, so it isn’t a cheap holiday…
We stayed relatively cheap and centrally located on Hotel Asterisk, the Texstraat 16, close to the trendy De Pijp quarter where we got 2 nights for 128 euros. From there we were in walking distance to everything in Amsterdam.
THANKS to Instagram
Had it not been for updates and dialogue via Instagram with two Dutch followers @dinnisje and @gnoe, I have missed the paper shop ‘Vlieger‘ – which I probably spent an hour in – as well as the unique stamp shop ‘Posthumus‘.
I really love being a part of that media!!
THANKS Amsterdam for 48 amazing hours!
Thank you for 48 hours utilized to the utmost – filled up with photos, creative supply and lots of inspiration.
And thanks to my lovely boyfriend for the most amazing shopping patience ♥ ♥ ♥
Lots of love and happiness, Susanne ♥
