Hvad betyder kreativitet for dig?

My days can look like each other

Thoughts about creativity – and my 365 mood boards

When I during the Christmas holidays suddenly got the – according to myself – brilliant idea to show 365 mood boards in 2014, I had no idea what I was getting into…

And in a way, I still take one day at a time and see where it leads to.

But some days are harder than others to put up a mood board. The days where I spend all day with creative processes, it is more easy to put up a mood board (if I remember to take pictures during the process), but of course there are days where I am not in contact with something creative at all, and I “just” have to arrange a creative mood board – and a blog post – before bedtime.

Many associate creativity with the invention of the wheel – and if so, it can be difficult to invent 365 wheels in one year…

My definition of creativity

Recently I received a question via facebook (have both a Danish and an English facebook page) about which definition I use of creativity – and here is my response:

“Very interesting question. I have no clear definition, but I see creativity as a creative process where you create something out of some raw materials or yourself.

To me, creativity is both the process of making wonderfully tasty, colorful food, delicious cakes, visual arts, music pieces, clothing etc.

For me it’s not the product that is important, but the creating process. And for me it does not have anything to do about inventing the wheel, but more the feeling of flow where the sense of time and place disappear because you are absorbed in a creative process while creating… Love Susanne”

I love to feel creative flow

Flow is the height of employment for me. The feeling of being absorbed in the present and forgetting everything else than right here and now… As in a kind of meditative state.

My 365 mood boards helps me to maintain the sense of creative flow.

Although the mood boards sometime are difficult to put up, although the creative supplies sometimes are only put forth to be photographed and then split into pieces again, then the mood boards help me to stick to my mission about living creatively.

[The beautiful creative mess met me when I walked into my studio this morning… And the table looks exactly alike tonight]

Almost the same mood board today and yesterday

And for pretty much the first time, my mood boards looks almost alike yesterday and today because I have made exactly the same creative creations both yesterday and today: Muffins form rosettes to family and friends as hostess gifts here at Easter…

But no matter how my mood boards look like, I really hope that they will inspire both you and me to have more creativity and to feel creative flow in our lives.

What does creativity mean to you?

I would be grateful if you would share your thoughts about creativity with me ♥

Lots of love and happiness, Susanne

Farverige påske værtindegaver af muffinsforme ¦ Colorful Easter presents made of cup cake forms

Colorful Easter presents made of cup cake forms

Have held an Easter get-together today with the neighbors here in the village and been in the forrest to roll Easter eggs with all the kids…

We had to bring food for a shared buffet, and while my boyfriend was in the kitchen, I sat down in my studio with a lot of beautiful colorful cup cake forms with Easter designs to make hostess presents.

Last year I got Lisbet *LLL&Co.*’s Danish creative book “Fine & colorful GIFTS you can do” – and since then I have probably made 2-300 muffins rosettes to give away to hostess gifts for family and friends.

Are you inspired to make some fine rosettes to hang in the window or on spring branches, see photos here in this blog post (in Danish) – or buy Lisbet’s wonderful book for detailed instructions.

Hope you will have some really beautiful Easter holidays with friends and family.

MOODBOARD #93:
Et kig ind i mit turkise univers ¦ A look into my turquoise universe

A look into my turquoise universe

I am CRAZY about colors! And recently, I rediscovered the love of turquoise – especially combined with pink…

Last week Lisbet *LLL&Co.* launched the challenge “Keep the turquoise ball rolling” [ #keeptheturquoiseballrolling ] via Instagram – and of course I had to play along.

So today I spent about fifteen minutes in my studio collecting some of my turquoise treasures – each with its own unique story – and created today’s mood board.

The most beautiful turquoise treasure, I own, I got from the talented Pia Doodlediem yesterday in our Creative Gathering. Pia has doodled on one of my grandma’s old dishes with the most beautiful turquoise porcelain pen ♥

#keeptheturquoiseballrolling

Would you like to be inspired by beautiful turquoise colors and even play with the colors on your own? Then make your own turquise mood board and load it on Instagram or Facebook, and use the hashtag #keeptheturquoiseballrolling…

Read more about this little color play, which is also started in pink and green here at Lisbet’s blog (in Danish).

Lots of love and happiness, Susanne
